reclaiming the KKK acronym

transforming ignorance to knowledge, hate to kindness & othering to kinship.

The National Ku Klux Klan Museum is an interactive, educational, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing racial harmony and inclusion through the exposure of the many forms of hate, discrimination, and exclusion; and by equipping visitors with constructive tools for changing the narrative, healing racial trauma and reclaiming the KKK acronym by transforming ignorance to Knowledge, hate to Kindness, and othering to Kinship.

Our Mission

our vision

The National Ku Klux Klan Museum will provide a welcoming environment for all people to learn and foster racial acceptance and unity. It will showcase informative exhibits and host engaging interactive activities that will enlighten minds about the harm and dangers of racial rejection, dehumanization, and intolerance. Exhibits will feature past and contemporary history, giving voice to stories that should never be forgotten. Interactive activities will teach visitors ways to inspire people to embrace perspectives toward creating a more humane future. The museum will also provide a safe and transformative space for those; victimized by racism, adversely affected by racist family members, friends, and colleagues, with racist beliefs and attitudes, experiencing and embracing a change of heart toward a better life.

The National KKK Museum will create a unifying legacy for generations to come and will be a significant collaborative force for eliminating racial discrimination.
